In my mother's roomIn my mother’s room, there is a large cedar chest with a broken brass latch.  
 
The lid is carved on the outside with an intricate design of five hundred and forty-two miniscule stars and one large cratered moon. My great-grandfather did that.  
 
On the inside, eight skinny scratch marks and a faint trace of pale pink blood. I did that.  
 
For two hours when I was four years old, I went missing inside of my mother’s cedar chest. Someone, I don’t know who, finally found me asleep and exhausted from screaming, but not before I had taken a giant shit all over my parents’ wedding linen.

She wrote: “In a moment of procrastination, nostalgia, and sheer curiosity, I decided to look at old blog entries from back in the day. I left you a comment on your journal from a million years ago. Call me lame, but I really need to talk to you,” dated three days ago.

It’s too bad she chose to read this one post rather than the dozens of others. If she had read those, maybe she’d remember how she told her mother that my parents were abusive, resulting in Mrs. Malik making angry calls to my house t She wrote -

Oh. My. God. The most totally, like disgusting thing happened to me tonight! I’m so serious. It was like really dark outside, you know? And like, I was waiting for the Vandy Vans but they take like forever because those totally old drivers have to have their breaks. But whatever. So I was like standing in front of Towers listening to Michael Buble (Oh. My. God! Isn’t he soooo cute? I like totally love his voice. It’s like, like awesome). And then a group of those freaks from McGill like totally came and stood by me. Like right next to me.   
I know, right!

Hello, Fellow Deviants :)

To all those who follow my page, thank you, thank you, thank you! I really appreciate the time that you put into reading or looking at my work and as always, your comments are most definitely welcome.

This is just to let you guys know that some of my written work will be appearing/disappearing in the weeks and months to come. This is mostly because I'm submitting more of my work to publishers. I still plan to post more new material here on dA but the pieces I like best will eventually go away for official submission.
